The New London County Bar Association is pleased to announce a scholarship to be awarded to a student within New London County who intends on pursuing a career in the law. The recipient of the award will receive a one-time scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. All applicants must be a senior in a high school located within New London County, with an expectation to graduate on time and an expectation of attending a college, university or other qualifying institution the following school year. The award recipient will be required to show proof of acceptance to a qualifying college or university prior to receiving the award. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), must be accepted to a qualifying college and/or university and must demonstrate a commitment to public service and community involvement.
Enclosed please find a copy of the application for distribution at your school. Applications will also be made available on the New London County Bar Association’s website (www.nlcba.org). The deadline by which to submit applications will be April 15, 2016. The recipient of the award will be notified by the end of May, 2016 and will be invited to attend the New London County Bar Association annual event to be held in June, 2016.
